God Knows Us Inside Out
You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
-Psalm 139:13, Message Bible
Ages:
Typical schedule: Sundays during the school year, 10:45-11:50 AM
Education and conversation for adults is also held occasionally during this time.
Over 40 children participate in Sunday School, which begins as part of our family-friendly worship service at 10:45 AM (in-person and online). After the children's message, kids move downstairs for Sunday School activities.
Starting in fall 2024, we’ll use a workshop teaching model. Kids get to pick an age-appropriate workshop for the 7-week session and our high school youth will lead the workshops, bringing their own unique connections. Learn more about this new way of exploring faith and our theme, God Knows Us Inside Out.

God Knows Us Inside Out
This fall our Sunday School children are delving into what it means that God knows us "inside out." We'll explore how it feels to be angry, scared, disgusted, sad and joyful through a Biblical lens. God made us with big emotions—we’ll discover how they can all be used to worship and glorify God.
Workshop Model for Faith Formation
On Sunday mornings kids will be dismissed from the 10:45 worship service after the children's message and to meet their workshop leaders downstairs. Each group will:
Workshop Options
To help with planning and make it easier for kids to jump right into the fun, please register in advance if possible (everyone is always welcome, but those who can sign-up early are appreciated).
For this first session, each child will sign up for one workshop for the next 7 weeks. Each session, kids will have the opportunity to choose a new workshop (or stick with the same one). Please register each child separately.
Little Explorers (ages 2 & 3)
An age-appropriate way for our youngest learners to explore the themes. Meets in the nursery.
The Clubhouse (ages 4 & 5)
Our PreK 4s and kindergarteners will build relationships while growing in faith, using games, art projects and LEGOs. This workshop will meet inside and outside. We encourage students to wear clothes they can move around in and that can get messy.
Artistic Minds (1st-5th grades)
From paint to paper mâché, each week students will explore the creative part of their minds in our art workshop. God was wildly creative when creating the world and we’ll follow that example. This workshop meets inside; we encourage students to wear clothes that can get messy.
Core Memory: Active Games (1st-5th grades)
From Mission Impossible to Popcorn Tag, we’ve got games that will create memories to last a lifetime. This workshop will meet outside, weather permitting. We encourage students to dress for the weather, wear tennis shoes and bring a water bottle.
GSLC Run Club (3rd-5th grades)
Lace up your sneakers and join the running club. This workshop will grow faith while getting active. Each Sunday we will warm-up, do drills, and go on runs around our outdoor space or in the neighborhood. We’ll meet outside, weather permitting. We encourage students to dress for the weather, wear athletic shoes and bring a water bottle.
The Hangout (6-8th grades)
Just for middle schoolers, The Hangout will be a great space to build community and grow in faith. There will be fun challenges, cool experiences, and “big kid” activities for our tweens.
Youth Shepherds (high school)
New this fall we’re inviting kids age 14 and up for an exciting leadership program. You’ll lead the activities you already love and help our children connect to their faith and community.
Our excitement is overflowing as we welcome our children and young people into this new way of learning and exploring our faith. If you have any questions, contact Denise Steene.
Jesus said, Let the children come to me and do not stop them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.
